Diciptakan dan dipopulerkan pertama kali sebagai lagu tanpa lirik, oleh Glen Miller tahun 1939. Lalu Brian Seltzer Orchestra merilis ulang lagu ini sebagai single tahun 2000 lalu diberi lirik oleh Mike Himelstein, dengan judul Getting’ In The Mood.

“In the Mood” was written and composed for the very first time by Glenn Miller as an instrumental number in 1939. Then, Brian Setzer Orchestra rearranged and released this song as a single in 2000, and lyrics written by Mike Himelstein. And changed the title into “Gettin’ in the Mood”
